Welcome to the Autism Internet Modules - flexible learning tools that help you apply the latest information about autism to your real life.

When you open an AIM module, you'll see a menu along the left-hand side of your screen. Because modules are designed to be flexible, you can either complete each item on the menu in order, beginning with the Introduction and pre-assessment, or - if your time is limited - choose only those topics that are of greatest interest to you. Of course, completing the module from beginning to end, including the post-test which provides important feedback, will provide you with the most comprehensive learning experience.

If you choose to begin with the introduction, you'll see and hear one of our partners explaining the module content via a QuickTime movie in the center of your screen. To start the video, simply click on the right arrow directly beneath the picture, or click on the words "play movie" below. As the video plays, the script will be displayed below the screen making it easy to follow along.

A glossary of potentially unknown terms is provided for each section of the module, beginning with the overview. You'll find them in a box at the right-hand side of your screen. For definitions, click on each word and a drop-down explanation will appear.

Pictures, charts and graphics will appear throughout the modules to enhance the content. A zoom feature allows you to enlarge them for better viewing.
Videos are also embedded throughout the modules; to view them, simply click on the TV icon.

Each module is accompanied by a number of resources designed to let you dig even deeper into the subject matter. PDF DOCUMENTS are linked directly to module content and may contain step-by-step instructions and checklists to ensure that strategies are implemented according to instructions. DISCUSSION QUESTIONS allow you to extend learning into real-life training. And introductory and advanced-level ACTIVITIES ensure that content can be internalized and applied across settings.

Frequently asked questions are addressed within most modules, and supporting documentation for evidence-based strategies and interventions is provided whenever appropriate.

If you need assistance as you navigate through a module, simply click the HELP button, or e-mail AIM directly using the e-mail link at the bottom of the page.

It's that easy. We hope that once you discover how simple and rewarding it is to complete one of our modules, you'll visit often in order to learn everything you can about supporting the people with autism in your life.
